NCSA develops and supports collaborations between professional artists and scientists that empower multidisciplinary approaches to the discovery of novel ways to communicate cancer to diverse communities.
NCSA has its origins at the Arizona Cancer Evolution Center where Pamela Winfrey developed an exciting series of projects collecting titled "The C-Word."
Our members are made up of professional artists, scientists, and researchers who are eager to create projects with people outside of their own disciplines.
Professional Oil Painter, Erin McGee Ferrell, painted on large canvas on the streets of Philadelphia, Portland Maine, DC, and in Ecuador. Always interested in the impact of Art in Hospitals, she advocated for interior decorating improvements for patients and researches the effect of art and a live artist painting in a chemotherapy treatment facility.
Erin McGee Ferrell is raising money to create simplified breast cancer educational materials to help patients going through treatment. Ms. Mastectomy, Ms Chemotherapy and Ms. Radiation are all crew members of the Pirate Crew Paper Doll Collection.
